Bought this thinking it was Elgin but didn't notice the smaller width until I tried to put a fender under it. May still be an Elgin but for pre 36' rain gutters?

Does that one have the solid holes for the axle? What is the width between the forks?

Yours may be a high pressure wheeled fork or an earlier 28" version.
Measured from underneath the fork crown.

Thanks, definitely looks Colson. Just remeasured and looks like a 28 would fit. Don't know much about Colsons. Guessing 1920s early 30s? Did they switch to 26" balloon tires in early 30s like Elgin?
