Found out that bike I had is a Ross

I found out the bike I had was a Ross, the guy I got it from says he thinks it is a 55. I’m going to repaint and restore it to go with my 55 Hudson, and while I was blasting the tank I revealed the logo, weirdly only on one side though. Does 1955 seem accurate? I could really use your guy’s help. Vin is on back left dropout and reads #5614894

I think if serial first 3 are R56, then Ross 1956
