On Training Wheels
While walking thru the woods yesterday, I spotted this 35 silver king frame with a Hermes badge "Ward Hawthorne Flyer".
It was buried under a nice moss blanket with just the pedal shaft sticking out.

We left it until we decide if it's worth bringing home. Googled the badge and only one match. (Attached picture)

Any info would be great.

Not much. What is scrap aluminum going for? Bike looks to oxidized and brittle.

you can't really tell by the photo what condition the aluminum is in... I highly doubt that it is brittle, maybe pitted, and definitely worth more than scrap even as "art"

I say grab it.

Well we're heading back into the jungle again in a couple hours to get some more hemlock saplings for our hedge.
I'll grab it. What's the safest way to clean it?
Sandblast?
I know if it is worth something to someone, less is more but good lord.....

We restore old cars as a hobby so putting something together as a planter would be cool.
We already have a older bicycle with planters in the baskets.

What size wheels would have been on this?

Any idea why the neck is turned around backwards?

I'll do my best to find older parts and pieces to make this somewhat presentable.
Any pictures of the girls version in it's correct "attire" would be helpful.
For now, I won't do anything to the frame as far as abrasives go. Maybe a pressure wash and keep the "patina".
