Frame ID help, please & thank you!

I need another project like I need another hole in the head, but this is for sale in a neighboring town.
I have a hard time saying "No" to myself, especially with bikes that need a little (or a lot!) of love...
Asking price is $100 OBO...
I'm hoping one of the experts could help me identify what model this is.

Yessir, I believe so. It has markings like an Autocycle, but I do not know enough about these old bikes to confirm.

Could just be a reflection or the camera angle but something looks a little hinky with that bottom bar. Otherwise I would say about a 1950 DX. V/r Shawn

post war Schwinn DX. 46-7-8 both bars are the same diameter. later ones the bar is smaller

lower bar is bent at the very least.

I'm kinda thinking that bottom bar was welded in. I wonder if maybe this frame was motorized at some point and they did that for clearance. V/r Shawn

DX frames never had that paint as far as I know. could be a cantilever frame modified for a motor. something funky going on.
