Fresh find rough 67 Campus Green Fastback

Was in the neighborhood for Thanksgiving (SE Iowa) so I picked this up to stay busy this winter. Good thing I recently bought a fresh jug of evaporust!

The tear down went surprisingly well for how crusty looking she was. Broke a few bolts, had to use the Dremel - that’ll happen.

The parts coming back out of the Evaporust are missing a lot of chrome so I think I’ll do my best to clean up and just have a rat bike. I got it cheap but not cheap enough to quickly be upside down.

Looking at the chrome it seems that was hanging up in the shed rafters nose down for some time.

Lil more progress and some mock ups today. I love how much of this bike I’ve been able to salvage despite how crusty it was! A testament to Schwinn quality.

Well, passed this on to the next guy tonight. Bittersweet as it was SO close to being done. Went to a kid in his 20s? so it’s always awesome to get the younger crowd into Schwinns!

I try to keep somewhat of a one-in one-out philosophy to keep the wife happy. And I am MUCH more excited for what’s set to be delivered tomorrow!
