Super rare c.1901 hand colored souvenir postcard featuring Major Taylor vs. French National Champ Edmond Jacquelin at the Parc des Princes Velodrome in Paris, France. Taylor is riding an Iver Johnson. The starter with gun raised is pictured on the right. This was one of a number of races between the champions that took place in 1901.
The card is in very good condition. No rips, tears or creases. There is some toning to the paper and minor edge and corner bumps. Most of the postcards found of Taylor from this period are black & white. The colorized cards are much harder to find.
