I recall using those more then once. I just can't remember on what. I think it was on a compressor shaft like Catfish said.
I do recall getting the shaft a couple times on things I have bought.......

Bendix used a set of brake shoe keys, that are about the same size, but they are rectangular in shape.

Yup and it's been a lot of years but, I use to just go to a hardware and or auto store where they'd have multiple boxes with assorted sizes for a few pennies each. So, regardless of 5 cent candy bars, 6-7 bucks sounds, awfully steep.
