My dad (81) this past spring at MLC where we rode 26 miles.

Today I tried to do something I never had trouble doing before. Hanging bikes from the rafters, carry a ballooner up a 10 ft. step ladder with one hand then turn it upside down and hang it on hooks. I got eight done then started on stingrays, I swear they were as heavy as the ballooners, I did one and had no more strength to put them on the hooks,, the whole time my Oxygen hose was hooking on the bars, seat, pedals, racks, etc. I guess some will have to find a place on the floor somewhere. Tomorrow the bike parts van needs cleaned out and 15 will fit in there. I'm almost 70 years old and every day it's getting harder to do things that were so easy before.
I turned 50 this year and my back would be screaming if I carried a ballooner up a 10 foot step ladder. You are doing things that guys 1/2 your age would have trouble doing.

I've got some arthritis going in my ankle and have had a cortisone shot and have also experienced what your going through. Luckily I have not been tyied down to an oxygen tank which would be a real pain for me as well. I guess just getting old is hell on earth for some of us. Take care and take it easy. Mark.

I'm 77. I'll be 78 soon. The older I get, the more I believe in that age old truth, "Life's too short to ride around on an ugly bike."

Rust is not noble. Rust is the signature of disrespect and neglect. I might be old, but I ain't rusty.

My kids are dead. My wife is an invalid. Not long ago, they took out almost two feet of my colon, the hard way. When they finally let me out of the hospital, I still had 30 staples holding me together. I had no help and I took care of my wife all by myself. Just another day at the office.

Like my Dad used to say, "Gittin' old ain't for sissies." Life happens. There ain't no reverse on this bus.
