My great great grandfather rode his to work from Fair Grove to Springfield MO (about 18 miles) back in the day. My grandfather lost his leg in WWII so he was never able to ride it or do anything with it but kept it all these years. I'm so thrilled to have it

Nice! Looks like a '34 with the strong board, I ride the same once a week or so. You will find a modern day rear wheel from @JIM OWEN, and an original front tire from a50crosleytrk@msn.com, aka Robert Dean Tire Co. the front rim is always useable with an RD tire but the rear needs a lighter tire to be rideable and the Jim Owen wheels are your best bet. He also has a multitude of parts available for the Ingo in case you wanted to replace your rubber standing pad, etc....

Here is my rider….
thought I would share this when I reached out to Jim Owen - Sorry but I sold my Ingo Parts business to Tyson Brown in Michigan. He is selling the parts now, You can contact him by email at: year1890@aol.com or phone: 248-247-9361. I got an email error when trying to send an email to a50crosleytrk@msn.com ...a little discouraged but not giving up...just have to keep looking. In the meantime I can get busy cleaning her up

"usually" by the time a scooter reaches this size it has some manner of brake

is this perhaps one with a scrubber brake which operates through the steerer?

am probably missing something to much thanks for any information...😉

I actually have no idea of the mechanics of the Ingo Bike but I'm researching. It does have what looks like a brake lever on the side of one of the handles. I don't have a clue how that works just yet. The kickstand hanging there I need to get attached back on.

thank you very much for your reply

suspect you shall discover that brake lever operates a linkage which goes through steerer and controls a scrubber type brake mechanism

Yeah, I haven't put tires on mine yet, but they do have a scrub brake. Guessing I'll have to find the proper width/height tire to get the throw of the lever right, I haven't seen a method for adjustment yet.

The front brake is a simple spoon brake that is concealed in the head tube. I find that it works pretty good for scrubbing speed, but always better to anticipate the stop. The Ingo will buck you off at high speed....
Surprised to hear that Robert Dean is unavailable....does anyone have a current contact if it has changed from: a50crosleytrk@msn.com?
I last ordered in June of 2020 so things may have changed....

Very much appreciate the comments/suggestions! Over the weekend I started in with the 3 in 1 oil. I was amazed (I'll snap some updated pics) how much better it looks. Any suggestion how to get the axle out? I started in trying to take the wheels off and noticed the axle is threaded on both ends but not sure how to get it out. The handlebars are chrome but rusty - does citric acid help clean them up? Sorry - I'm a total newbie at this so lots of questions.
