Joined the forum in hopes that someone can help me determine what model this girls Schwinn is. The serial number is B92846. On the chain guard it looks like it said Panther or Phantom but it is so hard to tell. Thanks for any help.

Where is the serial number located? Your number was used four different years, 52,53,57 and 46.

The lettering on the chain guard (if original) rules out '46, and '57 did not carry the brace between the two down tubes. Looks pretty much like it hasn't had a lot done to it over its' life. Crusty and ready to grease up and ride!

The bike has been rattled canned so what that hand painted name on the guard is void. With the SN location it would be either a 1952 or 53 model.
Only one picture and no added info, the model cannot be identified. Most of the models with a springer and that guard were higher end models which could include a rear carrier, tank, chrome or painted fenders and a light.

Check out Tom Findley's site. ..... http://www.trfindley.com/pg_schwinn_cats.htm

I'm going with Panther too. If a Phantom would have the tray for a fenderlight. V/r Shawn
