And of all things, the kickstand rubs against the rear tire when raised. Oh the things one misses when they’re starstruck.

Maybe it's the kickstand making the noise? That's going to be a nice bike when you get it sorted out!

They are quite simple to work on. Maybe the pivot points are sticking causing the shoes not to spring back. Very cool ride. I can’t believe someone would modify that beautiful frame and cut off the lower 2 bars. Top marks for bringing it back!

For some reason it seems these bikes have some interesting history. Like 2 of the bars chopped out....🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Thanks! Yeah, I just need to get it up on the rack and take the major components apart and go through them.

A kewpie doll to @Oilit for mentioning the kickstand, because I put it up on the rack, readjusted the rear wheel, and voila— the tire no longer rubbed, and the only squeeling heard was me as I rode off down the road.
