Gothic style fenders?

I have always been taught that no question is a dumb question, so here it goes. What is meant by the term "Gothic Style fenders"?

They are the "peaked" ones.

Columbia themselves used the term semi-gothic for many of their balloon tire fenders. They had the peak but at less of an angle.

Thanks guys. I thought the peaked design was the gothic style but I just wanted to know for sure.

They are called Gothic, because if you look at a cross section of fender, they form a Gothic arch. Sometimes refered to as a Moorish arch. i.e. (Islamic Architecture)
