Amie

On Training Wheels
This is our newly inherited Wards Hawthorne bicycle. We're trying to find out information on this bike. We're thinking it may be a 1935 Duralium. If we could get any info it would be greatly appreciated. We're looking forward it putting it into our fleet of townies but want to have actually answers knowing we'll have questions to answer. Thanks

Most likely a 35 with the window lugs. Not sure on those fenders bring original or handlebars either and looks like seat was changed at some point. More expertise resides on this board, so wait to hear from others about the fenders, etc...

34/5! Fenders, stem, bars and seat have been swapped out… also missing the chain guard. Very nice… enjoy the ride!!!

So I just put new tires on our new cruiser only to find out the rims are totally warped. The back is worse then the front but even that I don't believe can be tightened true. They're 24" 28 spoke rims. I'm not sure if the rims are original but I believe the hub is. Any suggestions on my next step? New rims? Thanks

From these pics it looks like maybe it should have 26 in. rims, I'm no expert tho just looks that way.

Silverkings had predominantly 24 inch wheels. If you know how to true a rim you might be able to straighten it out. Good luck!
