Finally riding a big boys bike
Gorgeous Original 1937 Evinrude Streamflow. Don't see this one too often. Great original condition on the lesser model. Sometimes when things are this wacky the lesser model can be quite nice. The bike had been with a really old owner for more than 50 years before I acquired it off the Cabe a few years back. Just a really nice impossible to find bike. The good is not to much has been altered over the years. Seat, rack, chrome, grips. The bad is the kickstand is not there, the front fender has been oversprayed because hardly any original paint was left. The light pedestal was made out of aluminum to match all existing markings. Some might say the price but like they say, try to find the other one. Fed Ex Ground shipping in 2 boxes. Either electronic transfer of PP f and f. Ok, I have reduced the price to $11,000. I would suspect this is the least amount an original paint Evinrude has been advertised unless you were lucky enough to see one "in the barn". Those things don't happen too much anymore. I do want to sell this bike strickly so someone can put that incredible rarity into there collection. I feel I've done a pretty good explanation and I don't think anyone will criticize the photographs. So please realize what is happening here. This is very special opportunity for someone.

I'm curious to know what the function is of the box above the bottom bracket.

Edit: Well, search before you ask, right? I just found a post about another Evinrude here on The CABE. It implied that it's the receiving end for the seat tube as it moves up and down, but that still doesn't answer why that "box" is so big. Wouldn't a spring in the base of the seat tube be enough? Surely there must be more...

Addition: And while we're at it maybe explain the double chainstays?
