I remember buying Lightnings in the 80's.They had the Indian on them.

I read on a muscle bike forum someone theorized that the UU prefix might have something to do with Carlisle aquiring U S Rubber but could not find any info
Also a similar coded Zepher Flyte tire was said to be 1960s

I've seen mini bike tires without the Indian heads on them that were supposed to be from the 1970's , also gumwall tires were popular on BMX bikes in the late 1970's - early 1980's
