Finally riding a big boys bike
Picked this bike up recently serial # H3349 ,can anyone decipher it and I'd frame builder? Although it's badged Hawthorne DeLuxe I noticed there are vertical mounting holes 2.75 apart .Did companies drill extra holes or could it have been something else ? Original paint seems to have been red

Great Western Mfg., La Porte Indiana did make some Hawthorne bicycles for Montgomery Ward.
I have seen some H-series double drop bar frame motorbikes, with the horizontal holes, or the vertical holes, (but not four holes).

Might be circa 1922-H, without the earlier 45mm undersized threaded bottom bracket with proprietary parts. It looks like the crank drive pin may be a bit off from a modified 3-arm sprocket?

Not sure why the top of the truss rods looks to be about 1/4" high?
