I need help. I have a comet I am working on. I need springer/fender help please.
Pics of original set up would be nice.
I understand there were pins that held the forks into the springer. Many were replaced with bolts. How does the front fender mount to the fork? Flush? Was there a rubber spacer?
Does anyone repop the pins? Thinking of having several sets machined.

Prewar are bolt not pins, the boss is threaded and no nut on the inside (post war are pins), the one in the pic is probably stripped out (happens a lot)and a smaller bolt with nut was added. as far as fender, rubber block mounts to front screw hole and just rides in dent on top of fender so its actually floating and only mounted at the axle, 2 holes in the back are for a locking plate if equipped.
