Help date 20’s Shelby

Just got this bike today and I’ve researched it quite a bit and haven’t found a pic of another Shelby archbar like this one. Metal clad wood wheels with new departure hubs, model D on back. Badge says Chicago Cycle Supply Company, Shelby, Chicago U. S. A. I’ve seen the same sprocket on 27 Lindy Flyers so I’m thinking it’s about there for year but can’t find a serial anywhere. Thanks for any help.

I was thinking the same thing but I don't see any other holes and I know the crank is a Shelby, but could have been changed out in the past easily enough I guess.

Looks like an excelsior frame and fork to me. Badge...added later and possibly crank as well. Gonna need some work on the bottom bracket....still cool find. Thanks for sharing the pictures with the cabe.

I think you're right Goldenindian I think it might be a 1918 Excelsior with some changed out parts

So sad, it looks like it spent decades in the farm junk pile. It really needed to be kept in the barn hay loft with the farmers daughters...
