On Training Wheels
Can anyone tell me the year, make and model? It is my father inlaws and he said he used it as a child. He said it was handed down to him from his brother. That dates it before 1959. We are helping him clean up his property and he said he would let it go. I took it thinking I could restore it and give it back to him when we get the house finished.

Riding a '37 Dayton Super Streamline
@ridingtoy can probably identify it but missing a front fender and I’m guessing late ‘40’s/early ‘50’s. As long as it’s for sentimental reasons because any money spent here are sunk$$. V/r Shawn

Yeah, I'm thinking late 1940s/early 1950s, too. Though it appears to have the old style twisted wire tires which would suggest the earlier date. It is a Mercury tricycle by Murray Ohio based on the rear step plate and streamlined rubber top seat designs. Doesn't have the later Murray hub caps with the MO stamped into them, which is interesting. Another indicator of the earlier date estimate? Looks like a chunk of rubber is missing off the seat back. That's where the MO is also sometimes cast into the rubber on their streamlined seats of the period. Appears to be a standard model Mercury and not a deluxe model. It is still well made...not like a lot of the cheapy trikes you see today
