Help Identifying My Bike.

Can anyone help identify this bicycle? It was given to me by a lady that got it when she was 10 in 1944. She said it was used when she got it. From what i could dig up, I believe its a 1941 Snyder built Wards Hawthorne. It has a New Departure Model D rear brake and New Departure Model WL front hub. The rear rack that is with it does have curved bars. I know its a Scwinn seat. She thought she wore out the old one and found this one used. Any more info and confirmation on what i have come up with so far would help

41 Hawthorne Comet is my best guess.

Your's has seen better days, but with a little TLC you could bring her back. It's cool getting bikes from original owner's.

Definitely 41, not sure the model but Comet is a good bet.

Yeah, it was painted by this ladies son about 30 years ago. He sanded it down before he lathered the white house paint on. So there's no getting the original paint back. Im going to strip it all down and start over.

Wards and Sears both started to incorporate kick stands about that time.
