Help identifying the year of Ward's Hawthorne

My daughter dragged this out of the garage with the intention of cleaning it up to ride it. The bicycle belonged to her great grandmother. Any help is appreciated!!

Reflector pedals came into play in 1971. I'd guess it's a early mid 70's bike. Post the serial number and maybe someone that knows the maker can pin point the year.

I'd say late '60s, with newer pedals and seat. '71-9 bikes had a BMA/6 certification decal on the seat tube.
