Hi everyone,

My name is Jack. I'm new here and happy I came across this forum. I have a couple different Schwinn bikes I am hoping to get more info on but I will start with this Whizzer. My father passed away last year and left my mom all kinds of antiques. He was big into cars, motorcycles and all kinds of vintage things. From what I have been able to find and based on the numbers on the bottom bracket, I believe the year of the bike is 1952. Can anyone help me out and let me know any other identifiers or things to look for while authenticating it? I'd also love to know a ballpark on what these bikes usually sell for.

Thank you in advance!

Welcome to the cabe! If do you share some pics of the Schwinn frame, serial#, the right side of the bike and close up of the engine serial number, that star whit the J" letter, would help to I'd better your whizer*!*

Decent bike but some corners cut on the restoration...no schwinn front brake, something modern/aftermarket... funky seat restoration..
but nice looking paint work from the pic... probably in the 2-3K range if it runs ok

Thank you for the feedback so far. Mekanixfix - attaching a few more photos as requested.

The frame serial number starts with B30
The motor serial number starts with J-243

That’s a really nice looking Whizzer. The B serial numbers were used in multiple years. In 1952 and 1953 the B serial numbers would be stamped on the left rear dropout above the axle nut. If the number is actually stamped underneath the crank, it could be a 1946 or 47.

Hola and hi @vintagejb Jack, thanks for the extra pics! Like the other cabers, mentioned, if the serial is located under crank, could be more older! You have some a mixture of parts, in a very nice paint scheme bike! The price depends,if the buyer wants a rider as it,or the persons, is a true fan of the whizzers, and reach a happy medium whit you! Very nice bike, compapre to others! GLWS

Thank you @GTs58 and @MEKANIXFIX !

@GTs58 the numbers are stamped underneath the crank. I found the serial number list on CABE but it only goes back to 1948. Could you offer any more insight in how I can narrow down the year? Also I read that bikes of those years usually had H motors.. This one has a J so I am not sure if that changes things or possibly a newer fully rebuilt motor was put into it when it was restored?

Hi @vintagejb your assumptions, maybe correct! If you post a photo of the complete serial# and the crank under area, including the frame stand and welding areas, that should, give more clues! I understand if the head badge is original, those shorter holes space, indicate older than 1952! For the engines, maybe was the one available, or was exchange due a damage H engine!
