I believe that is a Schwinn built BF Goodrich Challenger.

I found this picture in an old CABE thread, the tank looks the same. It is newer than 1944 according to the thread, but being a Schwinn the prewar model could have looked very similar.

Yes, this is my great uncle. Due to gas shortage during WWII this was his main transportation. He was in the insurance game, and collected fees for life and health insurance fees. Different times for sure.
