HELP !!

Cannot find the thread where the member showed
an unknown (to him) teen's motorbike ... having a
Chicago Cycle Supply badge ?

A member commented on the upper trusses of fork.

Bikewhorder ... indicated a strong interest in owning
the machine.

All I want is to document the rmaining-fotos in the thread.

It seems the entire thread has disappeared (to me, anyway).

Been searchin' nearly three hours .... Arrrgh !!

The only foto I downloaded was this one, below .....

Thank you ....
....... patric

Did that badge belong on that bike? Seemed odd...

Totally agree ...

The Liberty badge .. while being a Chicago Cycle Supply Co.
badge ..
is more associated with Schwinn .. 'tho there's nothing
in any rule-book (that i'm aware of) indicating the Liberty badge
is placed only on Schwinn machines.

The owner of that Davis-Built machine may one-day remove the
badge and see if there is any ''ghosting'' on the headtube indica-
ting whether or not that badge has been in place from the get-go.

rustjunkie sent me a foto from the thread ... I was going to post
it and the badge-foto (above) in the Show your Davis-Built Bi-
cycles ... but am very satisfied to post it here -- and leave it out
of the Davis thread. Don't want to soil that Davis thread with a
bunch of possible hoo-ha ... should the badge be found to be
added to the machine waaay-past manufacture of the bicycle.

Sir Patric. What was the final thought on this bike?
Pete ... there are three ''fur sure'' distinctions of note ... 1 ... the frame is model year 1918 .. Davis-Built ... 2 ... the fork is of the Heavy Duty, motorbike, Truss-Type .. showing all correct exterior hardware for this fork. As a sidenote this frame/fork could have been badged any of the Davis marques, or private labels, including Harley-Davidson. And, please remember: ... the Dayton motorbike is totally-different from the totality of Davis motorbikes .. the truss fork was also different from other Davis truss forks ... the Yale motorbike used an identical frame as the the Dayton ... BUT.. the Yale truss fork is the same fork used on other Davis machines. NOW ... Consideration Number 3 ... none of us knows how many Badge Attachment Holes are under the Victory badge ... there's even the possibility that a half-inch hole appears ( think bottle-cap badge ) . Predicting the Past is not always a simple thing. .......... patric ....... Please forgive this typer using the word, VICTORY ....... Meant to use the word, LIBERTY.
