Help With Bike Id

A buddy of mine just pick up an Elgin which I believe to be a 38/39ish. The serial number is G2239. Any help would be great. Thanks Frank

Yes, Murray built Elgin late 30s. An "MOS C" code over the serial would be '38.

I have the same frame & was told it wasa 37 elgin from who i purchased it from. My serial # is MOS 686 48 but have a tuff time narrowing it down.

Post a pic of the numbers. Many times. they're stamped lightly and hard to read.
