Dave M

On Training Wheels
Probably not on the correct thread. Just signed up
and not sure how things work. Just posted a pic of an American Flyer that was brought over to my shop. The owner got it from a customer. I overhauled both hubs, BB, headset, new rubber, and replaced a spoke.
2 unique things about this bike:
1. tank goes past the seat tube,
2. Has 5 stays/struts that go down to the each side of the front wheel.

Does anyone have an idea of the year of this bicycle?

Thanks!

dp harris bike makers of rollfast prob ~1941 others will chime in

Looks to be about a 40, smaller 18" frame. Looks to be a pretty deluxe, similar to my '41.

This looks very similar to yours' There were several models that used that same frame/tank/etc.

Here's what it's supposed to be.....

Snyder was the factory, Harris owned the Rollfast brand. They began stamping the 2 digit year in reverse on the BB sometime in 1940. So a '40's Snyder would be stamped 04, 14, 24, etc.
