On Training Wheels
Good afternoon, I am needing help to get closer to the identification of this bicycle. Whoever sells it says it's a Peugeot, but I have doubts about the type of lugs. Any ideas? Thank you so much

wrt lugs -

the frame is constructed with Agrati lug pattern "BRIANZA"

the stock number for the lug set as a group is ART. 000.8036/U

the uppder head lug is N. 000.8034

the lower head lug is N. 000.8033

the seat lug is N. 022.8039

the fork crown is N. 000.8038

bottom bracket shell (not clear in photos) for the ensemble is N. 000.8507

dropouts are likely to be Agrati item N. 0000.8002

fork ends are likely to be Agrati item N. 000.8010

one possible manufacturer for the machine is the firm of Torresini whose best known marque is Torpado

however, this lug pattern was widely employed by quite a good number of Italian manufacturers

date appears to be 1960's era

might be able to give additional information with further images made in stronger illumination...

First of all, thank you for your quick and clear response. You have been a great help, and with your information we will advance in the identification of this bicycle. As soon as I can (since it's not in my city) I'll take better pictures of her. Thank you very much again, best regards, Humberto Tartaglia

addendum -

thread of steerer and bottom bracket is Italian

diameter of seat tube and down tube is 28.6mm

diameter ot top tube and steerer is 25.4mm

stem diameter is 22.2mm

saddle pillar size will be between 25.0mm & 26.0mm

OEM frame spacing 120mm rear & 100mm front

should you wish to check on possibility frame manufactured by Torresini you can look for serial

at this time the company placed serials on the side of the seat tube about five cm below the seat lug

they commence with a triangular symbol:

Torpado serial number .jpg

Torpado seat lug & serial .jpg

Torpado serial number b) .jpg

the first two numerals indicate the year of manufacture

Really, I did not expect to get so much information and in so much detail! But you have exceeded all my most optimistic expectations!!

Agree with @juvela on this; definitely an Italian marque. Perchance with the careful removal of the paint (appears to be a repaint) some previous mark of identity will be exposed. If the brake levers are original it would put the bike into the early to mid 70s range given the secondary extension levers ('73 at the earliest?) (am I interpreting the photo correctly?). My latest frame with similar lugs (I would have to look and compare it to the bike in question) is a '69 Lygie. I'm not sure how much longer they used those lugs into the 70s (although it could have been a using up old stock issue by that time).
