Help with year identification

Forks look like Worksman. I'll agree with early to mid 60's bike. The red band Bendix hub reinforces that idea. The cranks may have a 2 digit date code.

Maybe it's the camera angle, but the seat stays look bent. Can we get some better pictures? Square to the frame.

Just look at the down tube and seat tube joints at the bottom bracket. Then look at the tube to head tube joints, this frame is not a Chicago Schwinn.
Indeed, prob good idea to actually own a 60's girl bike GT. In the 50's middleweight had smooth Joint to seat tube, like it's brazed. and thicker bottom bracket . but, by the 60's it's butted onto the Seat tube. The BB is refined, redesigned, all molded. The rear stays are butted into the preformed BB. Butted end of pipe , tapered flat ends, electro welded without preformed smooth or ground smooth connections. ringed male (Pipe ) too female BB slots. appearance of female ends on each rear stay, yet ringed male to BB and tapered end on seat tube., Just as this bike has. And on the boys, although tighter, top bar to seat tube.

The 84 SchwiMurray didn't use Schwinn's Old Pre 84 standard, fully molded Bottom Bracket. Or rather as Schwinn called it, verses BB, Schwinn lists this as the "Hanger" bracket.

The 84 rear stay, Murray's, detectible from underside of BB ,, yet from any angle >> no rear stay ringed tube ends where connected to the BB.Not sure whick year made but potentially the 60's hanger. Posted not long ago here: https://thecabe.com/forum/threads/schwinn-display-bottom-bracket.151127/

The Major difference on 84 Schwinn frame, built by Murray is, this type of molded BB was not used. [wink]
