Bike is green with metal basket, royal deluxe light and rear fender light.

Where would you find the year this bike was made?

Is it a three speed?

If it is a three speed with a Sturmey Archer hub, the year will stamped under the logo (two digit, so 59=1959).

If the head badge says Birmingham, instead of Nottingham, it is an original Hercules, and not one made after Raleigh bought them out (in 1960). It may also have a B.C.C. hub, helping to narrow down the year..

I have been trying to date a Hercules of my own for about three weeks...
