Don't forget to check inside the seat tube! G&J put tags inside the tube which included the serial number, model, and date of manufacture.

Good luck with original tires. I have a brand new pair (28" x 2") but they must have shrunk. I paid $250 for them, they are supple, but now they just look pretty.
They will fit over a 26" wheel, but no way a 28"

If they are marked as 28", then they will fit. More than likely they need to be heated up and stretched.
