JIM HURD WAS THE CURATOR OF THE SCHWINN FAMILY COLLECTION.
BOTH BEFORE AND AFTER SCHWINN BANKRUPTCY. ALSO THE BICYCLE
MUSEUM OF AMERICA AT CHICAGO'S NORTH PIER TERMINAL.
THEN THE FAMILY DECIDED TO CASH OUT THE MUSEUM AND PUT
THE WHOLE COLLECTION OUT FOR AUCTION IN '96. MOST OF THE
COLLECTION WAS BOUGHT BY A MAN IN NEW BREMAN, OHIO AND
SO NAMED THE NEW MUSEUM "BICYCLE MUSEUM OF AMERICA.

JIM ALSO PUBLISHED THE ANTIQUE CLASSIC BIKE NEWSLETTERS.
I HAVE ALL OF THE THE NEWSLETTERS AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT A FAIR PRICE
FOR THE COMPLETE COLLECTION ABOUT 47 ISSUES WOULD BE.?

he was my step father - happy to discuss further.

Was Antique Classic Bicycle News published back in the 1990's?
I remember advertising in the "wanted to buy" column in some bicycle news letter back in the early 90's.

I remember Jim .. He was also co-author on the bicycle blue book I picked up from Larry at memory lane a loooong time ago when I started collecting

Being from Chicago, I saw Jim many times, at the Schwinn Museum, The Bicycle Museum of America, swap meets, he had a lakefront ride that we attended, and sometimes out and about around town. One time I ran into him at the magazine section at the Barnes and Noble bookstore on Diversey. He was perusing model train magazines as I recall. I remember thinking that was so funny because I always expected him to be thinking about bikes :). Great guy.

I remember... he was the reason I'm in this hobby. All the $$$$$ I've spent and the miles I've walked at early morning Swap Meets! Thanks
