How To Tighten Old Grips ?

I will be using some ‘40’s era coke bottle grips for my current build. I suspect over the years they have become less “plump” as some of the volatile portion of their composition has dried out.

I am aware of all of the “hairspray/grip- glue/bar tape, type remedies.

Does anyone have an alternative trick or method to restore old grips to be closer to their original pliability and bar fit ?

Nope! I have always just used a bit of electracal tape on the bars with good results.

Yep!
I just use the low tack blue crape, masking tape.
Provides good grip and is easy to remove 20 years from now.

Blue tape or electrical tape. Usually 1 wrap will do
