Finally riding a big boys bike
I'd like to share a special suggestion on how to wire a prewar bike.
As you may know these bikes traditionally use braided wire that would not comply with today's Underwriter's Laboratories insulation requirements.
If you purchase braided wire today that complies with U/L standards it's often too "Fat" to fit through frames, handle bars and tank holes.
So be on the lookout for vintage Christmas tree lights from the 20's and 30's. (found these yesterday at a local Flea Market). Usually they are in great shape and come in a variety of cloth wrappings. Definitely have "patina" and will fit through the "Skinny" holes.
Merry Christmas!
