Looking through 1891 and 1892 issues of The Wheel and Cycling Trade Review there are quite a few examples similar to yours. 1892 seems to be the model year that the steel mesh chain and skirt guards were popular. The one that appears closest to yours based on rear axle chain adjuster is the Hulbert Brothers & Co. Cushion Tire Tuxedo Line. The drawing is not clear enough to see if the chain adjuster matches yours but all the other manufacturers shown were definitely not like yours. The fork rake is not as leaned back as yours. What Hulbert actually sold may be different than the drawing. Another similar example is the 1892 Spalding but it has different brake, chain adjuster, and other details than yours.

August 19, 1892 The Wheel and Cycling Trade Review - Similar to 1892 Lovell but with some different details and the Lovell might have only been sold as a ladies version not a combination like the ones above.

A Stokes Union sold at Copake in 2016. It has same chain adjuster and other frame details. Yours may be 1892 model with closed head tube. There should be a serial number on your frame and possibly fork.

An amazing amount of store brands are very similar _Spalding was usually made by Victor as were other brands the differences are amazingly subtle -taperd tubing rounded over edges -by 92 these were all really dinosaurs and were all being sold off at discounts some catalogs offered cushion tires up till 94 -thank you for the great photos sometimes we never really find the answers as to actually made a un badged bike that really could have been sold by any retail sporting goods store towards the end of the run
