Huffy Thunder Road frame year ID?

Hello guys. I recently purchased a Huffy Thunder Road and wanted to know if someone could tell me how to identify the frame year? It’s has all of the things that would make it seem a black #4 1975 but at the ends of the double frame tubes it has chrome like inserts and others I’ve seen these double frame tubes just round off with a hole in the center of each. Trying to identify the frame year. Thanks so much, Steve.

They only made them for a few years......there is a site with the serial numbers......always post a pic!!!

C 70346 is the serial # the seller listed but I don’t have an actual pic of the serial number. I tried attaching a pic of the bike. Thanks for your reply. Steve

Thanks I’m really looking forward to getting it. I just wondered about the actual frame date C 70346 Even if it isn’t a 1975 it looks just like the one I had as a kid from home videos so I’m happy. Just wondered the actual frame year if it was correct. Everything else seems to be good.

I believe the first number is the year so it looks like yours is a '77

That’s what I was thinking too although I’m confused lately if this look was made more than one year or if a 1977 frame was used and built. I’ve looked and so far I haven’t been able to determine if there are definitive looks for each year from 1975-1980.

2 different frames for the Thunder road the later did not have the cantilever bars. This frame was used for at least 3/4 years if not more

Made on the 034th day of 1976 at Celina, Ohio. 1976 and 1977 had that headbadge sticker. The 74-75 headbadge sticker is shown below.
