Jose

Look Ma, No Hands!
I'm a bit confused when it comes to serial #'s. I have a Girls Huffy with serial # on the bottom of bike of 8h230694 and also has another on the side of seat post of #A17050A. I might be getting this confused but I think I might have a Huffy LaFrance? Did I do the research right? If not could someone tell me what year my bike is and style.

My Girls HUFFY

Here it is a Girls 26" Ballooner

We have also seen the unique thread about your bike.
The posts above hint at a possible overlap of serial numbers for the late 1940’s and 1950’s — does 8H... mean 48 or 58 (?).
Earlier Huffy bicycles had the serial numbers on the bottom, then later Huffy bicycles had the serial numbers on the rear left. Huffman used various model names over the years; custom liner, mainliner, etc.

As I understand if it has the block lettered badge "HUFFY" it should be 1953 or newer.

Before that for a couple of years or so it might be badged a "HUFFY-BYKE" if a juvenile model, but Huffman did not become Huffy until 1953, and that should rule out 1948 for the bikes in this thread. They say Huffy all over them.

Look under the bottom bracket (crank) for the serial number and post a pic of what you find. If it is not there, look by the rear axle.

Also, have a look at this and scroll down.
