Ahh, i think I see...
Someone soldered (or welded?) plumbing "union" fittings onto the frame so you could take the frames apart, basically they would break down into two pieces...weird! I've never seen that "trick" before...

i wonder if you could put one of the pieces on upside down, flip the forks and bars, and still ride it?

or you could get some longer pipes and strrrrrretch it out a bit?

maybe use it to fix a leaky shower?

the hybrid possibilities are endless...
