a friend got this the other day. Lightweight with 26x1.375 tires. Has a very cool ND 3-speed. Sprocket is a black out. Your thoughts?

More pics, kind of a community effort here. No badge it has a Hawthorn speedo. Sprocket does not appear blackout just rusty. I picked it up for the friend today.

an early bike (collet seatmast and (orig,not these) handlebars) upgraded in the 50s- triplespeed
I could be interested in the speedo and triple speed if parting thanks

I really like how a previous owner wanted hub reflectors badly enough that he cut a hole in one so it would work with the 3-speed. I might use that idea with my 2-speed New Departure DD hub on my Hawthorne.
 
It's cool, whatever it is. The rain gutter fenders with that rear fender spacer and 26" wheels makes me think it would be around 1934/1935. Never seen anything quite like it.
