Casual dreamer

Finally riding a big boys bike
My bike is what I believe to be a prewar B.F. Goodrich streamline, serial number date the frame to be a 37 or 38. I picked up a set of fenders but they are narrower. The rear also has a very faint lip on the edge kinda like a repop phantom fender has. Could mine possibly have came with the wider 40-up fenders? What should I look for to make sure I get the correct fender?

Post serial number.
If it is a 37-38 I believe it should have flat fender braces.
Looks more like a 39-40

The rear fender on your bike is the standard 3.5" width found on the B level bikes from 35-40. The front fender you put on and shown above is the 3" width found on C/BC/and early DX models.

1941 had the deeper fenders on the B level bikes, and the DX stepped up in size as well.
