Ideas to convert a 2 screw frontloader to a single stud

I designed and 3d printed an adapter, that seems to work well. I used flat tapered screws that fit flush. It only raises the light a not noticeable amount, and is pretty sturdy.

I don't have it handy at all. I think it is 4 millimeters. It would be easy enough to make with a piece of aluminum, and taper the insides.

I've given this a passing thought. My thought was always to drill and tap the light bottom, but an adaptor like the above is a far more unobtrusive solution.

That's what I was going to try, but the hole needs to be opened up just a bit to allow for a 3/8x24 bolt. 5/16, 8mm are to small. 10mm too large.
