Identify This Frame Please

Hi Everyone! This frame is throwing me for a loop. It is badged as a Hawthorne Montgomery Ward bike. My problem is the 3 bars. Does the middle bar get hidden by a tank? It is a skip tooth bike. I realize it’s seen better days, but I would really like to identify it. Thanks!

Nope, it's a tankless bike. Hawthorne 3 bar? I forget what they call it, kinda rare frame but they usually don't command much money either way.

Hawthorne Tri-Bar Model. Very cool frames. 1950 example. Please post your serial. Should say something like SN 05 on BB.

This is a photo of the serial number stamped on the bb. Had to coax it out. It looks to me like 05SM? What do you think, and what can be told by the #? Thanks a lot! Ray
