an Incredibly Rare NOS Schwinn Double Duty Locking Fork
This is Holy Grail stuff right here. Pulled out of a deep 40 year collection in Chicago, this DD Fork was ordered as an upgrade, but never installed, never painted, never even had the lock installed. This is the tall boys locking version. It is NOT A CUT DOWN Girl fork. Nor is it one of those recent forks “fabricated” from springer legs. This is the Genuine Article from the Schwinn Factory, NEW OLD STOCK, in Factory Primer.
A few more particulars: the lower truss Y bracket is original, the upper bracket was missing, but I found an unplated one; it is held on with a single bolt. No locking mechanism present. No sign of a wheel ever being mounted. Steertube threads are perfect.
