Info wanted on 5-bar frame needed please

A friend found this frame earlier this week. Was wondering if it had a tank or is it a Tankless model? Also would it have been badged as a Monark or Hawthorne, and what year? Thanks for any help you can give. Serial number is AL3696. Rob.

Monark 5-Bar. They came with a tank. The Hawthorne doesn't have the shouldered seat stays.

Looks like a 39 tank model to me. The tankless model's "5th" bar is curved.
