Input Please, Original Paint?

Recently lined up this Colson. While looking at the pictures sent to me, as a whole, the paint looks original. The 2 areas that are questionable in my mind are the front end legs (and accent), and the front fender.

Would really like input and opinions on this one. Thanks.

Was thinking it should have the crested fenders.

36-37 Colson tall double bar frame and fork. Looks to have been repainted or at least dart decals added. We've seen these before on other bikes. Shawn could be right on the fenders. Original Colson fenders would have flat braces. 36 round fenders, 37 peaked. Crankset and deco stem look original to the Colson as well. Wheelset not original. I kinda dig it.

It's a correct Colson color combo, though. I had a burgundy one with that same white and green-ish pinstripe.

Never seen one that early. I have a ladies 41 looptail with that scheme too. You can tell the frame/fork does not match the fenders on this bike.

Yeah Mike they look like the fenders on the Airflyte.

Thanks for the input guys. Don't know whether to bust my b=lls on this one or not!!!! Seems every year I run across at least a couple bikes, that are in the "Should I, or should I not bike" This definitly falls in that group.

I believe those fenders are for a mid to lower level bike. The big tanks had a deeper fender. Unless this is a "must have" or its dirt cheap I'd pass. If you were looking at it thinking its an original paint bike you have your answer. V/r Shawn

Thanks, agreed! Price is cheap, but getting it to me is the hassle!
