There are a handful of fake ones on IG right now and all have been my "friend" at one point or another. You can usually tell when all they post is bikes for sale and never anything else.

I always notice when the backgrounds are radically different. Like brick v concrete driveways or bright green grass vs dead winter grass

It really is a shame to have to be so untrusting and gun-shy about collecting and building the things we love to this point because of people like this.

Most scams are pretty easy to pick out. But most if not all hobbies have a couple of the "good guys" who will take you to the cleaners.

He’s got another account now, this one has more personal photos, and has almost exclusively stingrays. Still uses “bikeshop” in account name, and has a dozen different garages in the backgrounds

He requested to follow me yesterday.
He's certainly posted a lot of bikes for sale in the last 24 hours.
I wonder if you will see any of my bicycles up for sale on his feed soon.
I won't know because I've removed him.
