In need of info on how to install tires/tubes on 28" wood clad rims. Never done this type of wheel & I don't understand how the tire will stay mounted as I see no lip to hold the bead. So what's the deal? I have a set of 28" x 1 1/2 tires & tubes. any and all help greatly appreciatedšŸ˜Ÿ

I use $45 700 x 33 sew up type cyclocross tires. Sometimes you can find them used. They donā€™t fit that well as they are a little narrow. Dirt gets in the gap between the tire and wood rim, mixes with the contact glue and makes a black line. They fit the 28 inch wood rims. Here is one of my bikes that originally had single tube tires on these rims. You can see the dirt line.
