Hey there Dave,

Where exactly do you grind at (where is the crimped inner edge of the axle)? The shaft or the end plate?

Thanks,
Ken

Right where you have the arrows. It's kinda hard to get tight into that spot... I used a die grinder bit with a straight tip, not one of the pointy kind, and just worked my way around it. Be careful not to grind on the plate itself, just the mushroomed over part of the axle.

Everyone here failed to acknowledge the fact the number on the end of the pedal will be different. Torrington 15 vs. 17. Sure they're rusty and not really legible, but still.....

Just sell those and buy mens.
Ideally, yes... "just", but obviously he's improvising. And for a patina bike, this'll work fine. Gotta do what ya gotta do.

Good point Chris. I thought this was going to be an easy swap out and this may not be worth all the hassle, but if it works it may be worth trying on at least one set of pedals (as long as I dont destroy them).

Finally riding a big boys bike
Binding barrel extensions....plus some imagination and a "donor mens pedal set".....ought to do the trick. I never actually did one, but thought about it. Any takers?

Hey Joe,

Interesting possible option although I am not sure how they would look like when put together. Something to look into...

Thanks,
Ken
You wouldn’t see the barrel extensions, they would be completely inside the pedal blocks, and only the threads would protrude as like the originals.
