Is this light right for this bike?

This bike is a nice original but I’ve not seen a delta winner light like this on a schwinn. Also the light has wires so I assume it had an external battery box or was in a tank. I been told the serial number places it in 1942. Also I know the chain guard is a repop,

Every Delta Winner light I have seen was self-contained and not powered by external batteries. That one seems unusual, but others here will know for sure.

Not sure if the Winner was available prewar - have only seen it on postwar bikes. A Delta torpedo style front-loader would likely be correct for that bike (not mine)

They did make the Winner before the war, but to my knowledge, they had the batteries inside the light and the on off control was a thumb screw that pushed the contacts together. The post war Winners had a rocker/flipper switch instead.

I couldn't find pictures of the light when I had it apart, but here it is on this Colson. Hopefully you can get an idea of the thumb screw from this.
