Its amazing on what some new parts will do

Been riding a mid 70s Huffy10 speed since new and have put 6300 miles on it,put about 4000 miles on it since it came out of storage 15 years ago and had been getting noisier ever since and last year the chain started coming off and got tired of it. After a inspection found out the crank sprockets were worn and picked up some nice used parts and a new chain and its quiet now and about ready to head out on a ride to see how it does,in 2700 miles it will get retired and I will buy a new bike. The speedo has a 10,000 mile odometer and would like to see it with all zeros again before retiring it.

Yep!
I’ve always said, there’s no reason why these bikes can’t ride like new again.
Some of the obscure models are a little harder to find parts for, but the parts are out there, you just have to find them.
With a little research and due diligence, they can be refurbished to function as well, if not better than they ever did.

With the bad chain I could not use a few gears without it sounding like something was going to break,now I can use all the gears and is quiet and just took it on a 21 mile ride which was more enjoyable.
