Wore out three sets of tires already!
I bought and installed a dishwasher 15 years ago. Lately it wasn't working well so I bought a new one, which is arriving in a couple of days. This made my wife happy. Today I pulled out the old one and look what a found: a 1/4" drive ratchet. Apparently, I adjusted the feet to level out the dishwasher, saw that things looked good, and left the wrench on the foot. Well, now I have an extra wrench.

I went into a building salvage shop that sells old doors , moldings and all sorts of trim anything to build with that has come out of Demo jobs. They had a nearly perfect Disston hand saw that was maybe turn of the century. It still had all it's markings on the blade and looked brand new. It was not for sale. They had been gutting an old building and it was found in one of the wall cavities. All I could do was think about the poor carpenter who had lost it. No Hdepot to run and get another. I would bet he did not have a second one. I imagine in 1900 losing your saw was like losing your arm. I had an even more depressing thought that someone hid the saw in there and it was not even his own doing. Good way to get the over productive new guy off the crew. I wanted that saw and now always demo my jobs with a bit more of a discerning eye.

A couple of years ago i went with a friend to a tire dealer in Dayton Ohio to get a set of new tires installed on his Suburban. When the shop removed the right rear tire they found a screwdriver had been left inside the tire when it was installed originally and he bought the car new!

😲 I guess that once the tire was spinning the screwdriver would just stay to the outside but wouldn't it rattle around when just starting and stopping? Maybe not making enough noise to notice? Who got to keep the screwdriver?
